Local pet supply company Yarn & Bone has opened new stores at 644 North DuPont Blvd., Milford and 6 College Park Drive, Georgetown.
Yarn & Bone offers all natural dog and cat food, treats, supplements, toys, small animal and reptile essentials. Some locations also have pet grooming and self-service wash stations, complete with elevated tubs, shampoo, towels and forced dryers.
With staff passionate about the natural health of pets, all locations host monthly events focused on local rescues, training classes, photography and sales, and pet health education.
Yarn & Bone owners Michael Morris and Matthew Moorefield began their business journey thanks to chocolate lab Bella, who had severe IBS problems. Instead of relying on drugs and pills that only masked the problem, they looked at her diet to pinpoint the cause of her digestive problems. We headed to the shop and found food that would help Bella heal from the inside out. The labels were very hard to read, the marketing was misleading and it was difficult to determine what was actually good for Bella. We created the Yarn & Bone Pet Supply to take the guesswork out of asking “Is this right for my pet?”
The first Yarn & Bone opened in Camden in 2015, offering small amounts of natural pet food and treats, self-serve wash stations and pet grooming. After growing a large customer base through superior customer service, competitive pricing, event hosting, sampling and service, in 2021 we moved our operations to our current larger location in Camden Town Center. The owner also opened his second store in Dover. House Mud/Fox Bakery.
Noticing that the home delivery clientele was expanding into the Milford area, Bridgeville and elsewhere, the owners turned their attention to heading south.
“We’re excited to offer a location to our customers in Southern Delaware who use courier services or drive to our locations in Dover and Camden when they want to shop at our store,” Morris said. increase. “Our goal is to offer the best options and prices with friendly customer service, and provide a great experience for our customers and their pets. Hosting pet parties and events is in our DNA, so we want to create an atmosphere that makes Delaware a destination for pets of all kinds. We anticipate further growth in the coming years as we provide more services to state pets and their parents.”
Upcoming events at the Yarn & Bone store include Easter egg hunts, adoption events, puppy classes, nail clipping clinics, arts and crafts for pets, the annual Woofstock event, and more. For more information, please visit Facebook and Instagram.
