st. George — Utah Tech Women’s Softball will host its second tournament in the coming weeks, March 3-6, with participation from BYU, Utah Valley, Oregon, Portland, Idaho and UNLV.

The Blazers are 4-0 at their home venue, Carl Brooks Field, and will be the centerpiece of the three-day tournament (with several other teams playing at Bloomington Park). The hosts are scheduled to play at Carl Brooks Field as follows:
- Friday, 12:30 PM Oregon
- Saturday, 3:00 p.m., Portland
- Sunday, 3pm, UNLV
- Sunday, 5:30 p.m., Idaho
- Monday, 11:00 am, Idaho

Utah Tech (9-5 overall) was undefeated in its first weekend at home with the Utah Tech Tournament February 24-26. The Blazers started playing against St. Louis last Friday, winning both games of the doubleheader, 2-1 and 17-5. Then they beat Weber State 16-5 on Saturday and Lauren finished the tournament with a 6-5 win thanks to his Almedia walk-off hit.
The standout player of the weekend was senior Hannah Hubanks, who went 7-11 with 6 walks, 8 runs scored, 10 RBIs and 2 homers to earn the Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week. She is her second Trailblazer to win the award this season. In the first week of the season, Tanya Windle won the award for his 3 extra base hits and his 7 RBIs in his 7-16 record.
In the circle, the Trailblazers’ early ace is Sauren Graton. She’s pitched in her six games, four of which she’s finished with one shutout. 243 in her 35.2 innings.
