In the age of streaming and theatrical releases, viewers are exposed to an enormous variety and quantity of movies. Some go on to become historic hits, but many movies don’t get the kind of audience they deserve for a number of reasons.
A combination of bad marketing and bad timing meant these great movies didn’t need the attention. It was overlooked. These underrated ones should be seen at least once.
Ten Ruby Sparks (2012)
Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano were electric in this modern “romantic comedy,” but they hardly got the acclaim they deserved. I tried to restore the Ruby Sparks, It did so with nuance and subtlety.
Calvin is a writer who struggles with heartbreak and loneliness, yet writes the perfect, quirky woman who bounces off the page and comes to life. Ruby Sparks isn’t a cheesy or happy movie, but her rom-com with a positive message.
9 Rock (2014)

8 In a certain world… (2013)
This indie film was written by Lake Bell, who stars as Carol, an aspiring vocal coach who struggles while her father Sam thrives in the same industry. With her luck, she enters the competition to host a new show alongside her father, who is eager for her job.
In the film, Eva Longoria appears as Carol’s student, adding to the novelty. In a world… Sharp, insightful, and funny, Lake Bell steals the show with its portrayal of Carroll and the direction of the film.
7 Sunshine (2007)
With a heavy cast including Cillian Murphy, Benedict Wong, Chris Evans, Rose Byrne, and Michelle Yeoh, it’s surprising more people haven’t seen sunlightThis Danny Boyle sci-fi thriller is set in the year 2057, when the sun has disappeared and humanity faces extinction.
A team of scientists set out to reawaken the sun and save the universe, using the best sci-fi tropes to guide the story. The film strikes a balance between science and religion, and you’ll want to watch it more than once.
6 I’m not an easy guy (2018)
Everyone loves a world of opposites. This underrated French comedy explores just that, but with gender roles. Misogyny and overall snobbish, Damian enjoys life in a society that favors him until he suffers a head injury and is moved elsewhere.
When he wakes up, he faces unreasonable rules and harassment from women in another world. The movie has not received much attention despite being available on Netflix. Laughter makes it a great watch.
Five Disobedience (2017)

After years of being estranged due to her father’s funeral, Ronit said she returned to the Jewish community only to find that she was still a misfit and that the woman she loved was with a man. I just realized that I am married.
Things get complicated for everyone as they work through tensions within their community and their lingering love for one another. This is an underrated romantic drama.
Four His House (2020)

3 Cloud Atlas (2012)
Based on the novel by David Mitchell cloud atlas It’s completely new because there are very few films that interweave different stories from the 19th to the 23rd century in completely different worlds and atmospheres.
This epic sci-fi zooms into the past and borrows from the future to make it unique. Over hundreds of years, the dynamics and relationships between characters have changed and reversed, ultimately demonstrating what the human experience really is: persistence and connection.
2 Vigilante (2018)
Dark and gritty Olivia Wilde highlights vigilanteShe plays Sadie, a woman with a tragic past of abuse and loss, who adds mental and physical strength to her good-for-nothing husband so that other women can become victims of domestic violence. I decided to help him escape the situation.

1 Enemy (2013)
