In an art form called professional wrestling, everyone has a gimmick.
The Undertaker was a zombie undertaker.
The Boogeyman was, well, the Boogeyman.
The Atlanta Falcons gimmick is losing football games in spectacular and terrifying ways. At this point it’s really become performance art.
We all recognize 28-3. It was an honor to see the Falcons lose to the Cowboys just by not touching his kick onside. As much as the Green Bay Packers have cheeseheads, their double-digit collapse is part of them.
The next chapter for the Falcons, who lost in the most ridiculous way, was a 20-17 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. The Falcons and Chargers were tied at 17 in the final minute of the game when Chargers RB Austin Ekeler fumbled in the red zone. When Falcons DT Ta’Quon Graham picks up the ball, magic happens.
The Falcons DT fumbled the ball in the worst moment of the game. The Chargers got the ball back and quickly kicked the game-winning field goal, sealing the fate of a Falcons franchise that knows this pain all too well.
Of course, Twitter was quick to criticize Graham’s unfortunate mistake.

Luckily for Atlanta, today the Carolina Panthers are completely smoked by the Cincinnati Bengals. The Saints and Bucks have yet to play, allowing them to maintain their lead in the NFC South.
But knowing the Falcons, that lead isn’t exactly safe.
