Streetwear has evolved from a subculture fashion movement to a global phenomenon. Once associated with urban street culture, it has now infiltrated high fashion runways and is a staple in every stylish individual’s wardrobe. While streetwear originated in the United States, its influence has spread far and wide, with international brands now dominating the scene.

International streetwear brands have been making waves in the fashion industry, challenging the traditional fashion houses and carving out their own place in the market. Moving to Australia, Highs and Lows (HAL) is an emerging streetwear label making a global impact. With its strong Australian identity and attention to detail, HAL has gained recognition for its unique designs and premium quality products. HAL’s success is a testament to the fact that streetwear is not limited to any one country, but rather a language that transcends borders.

As streetwear continues to go global, it is important to recognize the role that these international brands play in shaping the scene. The dominance of international brands in the streetwear scene should not be seen as a threat to the authenticity of street culture.
