Sandals Halcyon celebrated International Women’s Day 2023 by recognizing female employees across all departments.
The resort employs about 500 people, the majority of whom are women.
Public Relations Manager Masana Morrison said the resort is fortunate to have a talented group of women employed who contribute significantly to the resort’s success.
“Today is all about celebrating our female employees, not just here at Sandals Halcyon, but at all of our other properties,” Morrison said.
She has hosted self-defense sessions with senior police officers, motivational lectures with female resort managers, Sip and Paint, Sip and wick, tea parties, crafts, and decorating to name a few.
“We are committed to our week of activities. It is very important that women know their potential and feel empowered to pursue their ideas, dreams and goals. Clinton once said that women are the most untapped reservoir in the world.Look at the strength of women on a daily basis and how much we can achieve.Especially when we support each other and the company Sandals as a company strives to ensure that team members are recognized, empowered and have access to opportunities for growth, personal development, promotion and skill building.”
According to Morrison, Sandals Halcyon’s leadership is 70 percent female.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8th every year around the world.
The ceremony aims to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day is also a call to action to promote equality for women.
The theme of this year’s event is “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”.
