Fargo, North Dakota (KVRR) – Fargo Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the dog’s death following a trip to a local groomer.
Police on Friday confirmed that the investigation involved Muddy Paws Pet Spa and Grooming at 3985 56th Street South.
The owner of a 7-month-old puppy named Daisy said the dog died from an injury sustained while being cared for by a groomer.
The owner, who declined to be interviewed on camera because he was still grieving, said his dog was so badly injured that he would put him on a ventilator before he died.
Police told KVRR News they received a call about an animal complaint at 9:41 am on Sunday, February 19, saying the investigation was in the early stages and did not provide further details.
Attorney Ryan McKamey said Muddy Paws “made sure Daisy looked healthy when she arrived at Muddy Paws for service, during the service, and more importantly, when she left with her owner. Maddie Pose is heartbroken.
McCamy said Muddy Paws “has no further comment as, in their opinion, the matter has been resolved.”
