Dan Stanley, a self-development expert who guides professional men to be better, has published the first book to redefine modern “masculinity”. One Dan works with an apparently successful but unhappy man.
Award-winning former Army commando and founder of the BetterMen organization Dan Stanley publishes his first book Rethinking Masculinity – A Modern Man’s Guide to Success in Life(Available from October 3rd).
The 38-year-old from South Wales founded BetterMen in 2018 after going through a midlife crisis after giving birth to his first child, a girl. He was lost in his life, not knowing who he was or how he wanted to live.
“I spent my life trying to prove my worth through success. I was frustrated, unfulfilled and struggling.I had mental health issues.I had created a superficially successful past but found myself without a clear direction for my future. That period of my life almost cost me my marriage.
Dan made it a personal mission to change the trajectory of his life, rebuild his marriage, and get better. In that space, he came to the sober conclusion that he wasn’t the only one who got lost. As his NLP coach and as a certified high performance coach, he trained with Brendon, the world’s leading coach at the High Performance Institute, who is one of the few coaches in the UK. rice field.
“Through this process, I began to understand how to be better: to show up better in my own life as a husband, as a father, as a friend and colleague. In the process, many men, even those who are outwardly very successful, may feel lonely, unhappy, and struggle with mental health, and in fact most men wants to be fulfilled, happy, and connected with family and friends.
Dan founded BetterMen, a professional coaching business for men, alongside Men & Men, a monthly hill walking community for like-minded middle-aged busy professional men from across the UK. Created Mountains. In August, all the members participated in the first overseas expedition, Alps trekking.
Since launching his business, Dan has worked with successful business owners, including millionaires, elite athletes, and even celebrities.
“I am honored to be able to support men who feel their lives are off track. Having built my business and worked with hundreds of men, I am determined to challenge the dysfunctional state of modern masculinity and I felt it was time to put pen to paper and write a book to make the answers I uncovered accessible.
The book explores the “myth of masculinity” experienced by adolescent boys through social, parental, and educational conditioning: Dunn’s belief that professional success equals personal happiness. it’s not.
Instead, Dan suggests that it leads to workaholics, loneliness, declining mental health, midlife crises, and divorce, often with mixed results. We believe it’s no coincidence that 3 out of 4 people are men.
“I hope my book will help men, and the women who support them, to rethink and redefine the standards of modern masculine success. Man’.”
