Admission is $10.Hosted by Mike Isco, a retired public defender who has been speaking since 2015, he is thrilled to continue coming to Buttonwood Tree to share his story. As a leader of her own group or as a member of other creative musical ensembles, she frequently performs in venues in New York, the Northeast United States, and around the world. Saturday, March 11, 2023 / Jazz fusion and improvisational music group AltusThe show starts at 8pm. Admission is $20. Altus is a collection of five musicians and composers with whom we have been friends for over ten years. Together these musicians create a sonic narrative derived from Black American improvisational techniques that blurs the line between the listener’s immediate experience and the mythology of humanity. Three of them, trumpeter Dave Adewumi, double bassist Isaac Levien, and drummer Ryan Sands, met in Boston in the fall of 2012 while pursuing their bachelor’s degree. Over the next few years, as their personal and musical ties grew, they met and worked with tenor saxophonist Neta Ranan and alto saxophonist Nathan Reissing.

Admission is $15. scorpion fish is a modern folk project founded in Summer 2021 by Derrik Bosse, Taylor Warinsky, and Xavier Serrano. The group plays songs in a modern style inspired by tradition, bordering on post-punk and Irish trad. The band has yet to be released to the public and their self-titled EP serves as their debut release. Bosse is a musician who is always looking for music that is off the beaten path. He is one of the few teachers in the world of bass and conga styles. Warinsky is a public school music teacher with a jazz background.
