Wilmington, North Carolina – App State Softball improved their weekend record to 3-0 on Saturday, defeating UNCW 6-4 after completing their season sweep with a 3-1 win over Georgetown.

Black & Gold recorded a three-game winning streak in dramatic fashion in the second game of the day, scoring five unanswered runs to reverse a two-point deficit.
App State’s offense started the game strong when Parrott singled down the left field line to open the first field. McAllen followed that hit with a single that brought in his teammate to give the Mountaineers a 1–0 advantage that lasted into the bottom of the fourth.
After allowing only two hits in the first three innings, the App State defense gave up a three-run homer by UNCW’s Morgan Bullitt to give the Seahawks a two-run lead.
In the top of the fifth, App State needed momentum, and Coltrain delivered. The graduate student hit his first home run as a climber to start the inning.
Next inning, Houston continued his scoring momentum with a two-run single to put the team back on top. Coltrane hit another home run in his next at-bat.
Each team scored one more hit as the app health remained perfect heading into the weekend.
