Edenvale’s Marissa Burness can now add the South African semi-finalist to her impressive resume by joining the 2023 class.
Barnes received the news on February 3 after a national casting event held at the Emperor’s Palace.
Semi-finalists then participated in a jam-packed two-day conference filled with motivational talks, workshops, upskilling sessions, socializing and networking opportunities.
They were also introduced to the famous Mrs. SA Sisterhood.
“I am inspired and excited to be a part of the journey offered by this incredible platform that promotes the growth and empowerment of all women,” Barnes said.
Mrs South Africa is a self-discovery and empowerment program that celebrates diversity, ambition and confidence while showcasing some of the country’s most incredible and talented women. It also equips you with the skills and tools you need to make your dreams come true.
Mrs. SA CEO Joanie Johnson said: It’s the changer this country needs. ”
Speaking about his decision to enlist, Barnes said: This journey has only just begun, but it is already pushing me towards these goals. Thank you for your continued support. ”
She wants to encourage and inspire people to know that all women are exceptional and important, regardless of age, height or career.
As an accountant, tax attorney, and business coach, she also hopes to guide business owners to get the most out of their lives and businesses.
This year, the casting panel sought women who have a strong interest in empowering others, demonstrate strong family values, and are passionate about making a difference in their communities and the world.
“Berness perfectly embodies the values Mrs. SA holds dearest and represents this year’s tagline of #EveryWoman,” said Johnson.
