jacksonville, florida – A man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting in the Riverside neighborhood on Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The JSO said the incident occurred just before midnight on King Street. Investigators learned that a man who had been taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his forearm was involved in an altercation within the business.
The man was shot by an unknown man after being kicked out of the store, according to the JSO.
Chester is the host of a kickback gastropub near the store where the man was shot. He told News4JAX what he saw that night.
“We were on the patio and suddenly we heard a loud noise. Of course some people bent down and some didn’t. I saw a man shot,” he said.
News4JAX spoke to a man who said it’s usually a quiet area and a great place to hang out and enjoy a variety of activities.
“I think it’s a nice place for people to come out of town and eat and drink and have a good time, but I think it’s a pointless crime,” Polo said.
At that time, JSO had no description of shooters. Police are investigating.
