(NEXSTAR) – Instagram users trying to check their feed on Wednesday nights are faced with the unfortunate message that their feed has not been updated.
Users started reporting that Instagram was down around 8pm on Wednesday. According to his outage tracking website Downdetector.com, more than 46,000 people have reported problems accessing his social media platform.
As of 9pm CT, Downdetector reported a second spike in Instagram outages. Downdetector collects status information for dozens of sites through user-submitted reports, social media discussions, and “other key metrics.”
The exact cause of the outage is unknown, but many people say they can’t see stories at the top of the screen and can’t update their feed.
