After testing with a subset of users over the past few weeks, Instagram is now rolling out a new in-app post scheduling tool to all professional accounts within the app.

As you can see in this overview, Instagram’s new post scheduling option allows you to schedule your photos, carousels and reels up to 75 days in advance directly in the app.
You can schedule reels in the following ways:
- In the compose flow, tap Advanced Settings before sharing the post
- Tap “Book this post”
- Please select the date and time you would like to live stream
- Tap Schedule in the post composer

As previously mentioned, Instagram has been testing this option over the last few weeks, and a live test was spotted mid-month.
Functionally, this adds nothing new like you could Schedule posts through Creator Studio for 2020 and beyond. However, while it may make it easier to manage your content on the go, the ability to schedule reels, in particular, can help you maximize your content’s performance.
Based on Instagram’s message, only Professional accounts are available at this stage, but anyone can switch to a Professional account in the app by toggling the option on in their account settings.
Instagram says the option is rolling out today, so if you don’t already have it, you can get it now.
