This shows the album’s grander side, transporting listeners into a sonic blizzard and shamanic theatrics. I really like the shamanic vocals of the beautiful soulful Johanna Kurkera who did the perfect job to execute this vision perfectly. My own favorite on this album, except perhaps ‘The Rapids’.

Written by Vanhala, it’s one of the most epic songs in the bunch. Here, the famous Finnish singer Johanna Kurkera performs female vocals. The lyrics are from the perspective of the protagonist, Arvid, who tries to solve mysterious deaths in a small village.

It’s also one of the oldest demos we had for this album before the pandemic hit. The original female voice sample was taken to another level by Johanna’s vocals. Insomnium song used female vocals for the first time.
