Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), Director of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), has initiated a 10-day Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) under the Tejaswani Livelihood Plan of Mission Youth. The training program was organized by JKEDI’s Center for Women Entrepreneurship (CENWENT) and coincided with the ongoing International Women’s Day celebrations.
The EDP is attended by female candidates from across Jammu District and undergoes training programs focused on self-development, basic business skills, business and marketing plan development, account management, and sector-specific technical inputs. , is evaluated. All procedures related to company establishment. The purpose of this program is to help candidates become self-reliant and facilitate their development.
The JKEDI Director congratulated the women who participated in the program and said that there is much to be celebrated for women’s achievements. He added that there is still much work to be done in that direction and that we need to embrace equality and build a better world for women.

To ensure that your business venture is successful, I want you to do a thorough market research before choosing an activity. This scheme is a special initiative of Mission Youth J&K of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to encourage young women to finance and set up profitable self-employed ventures that suit their skills, aptitudes and local conditions. It is intended to provide assistance. It enables and encourages women to establish income generating units through manufacturing, service or trading activities.
Upon successful completion of the training program, these registered female candidates will be assisted in establishing or expanding a business venture. Their detailed project report (DPR) is also produced by her JKEDI.
There are two centers dedicated to women entrepreneurship in Srinagar and Jammu, which serve as JKEDI’s program verticals for the development of women’s entrepreneurship in J&K.
