MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WSFA) – It’s vacation season and despite inflation, AAA Alabama expects more people to hit the roads.
AAA’s Clay Ingram said, “We are a little away from this pandemic and I think the number of travelers is up again, probably very close to what we saw pre-pandemic.” Alabama.
He explained that even with gas prices rising, most people are willing to sacrifice a few extra dollars to see their families during the winter holidays.
Despite high demand, experts predict that gas prices in Alabama could actually fall.
“I think gas prices for the Thanksgiving and end-of-the-year Christmas holidays will be a little bit cheaper than they are now,” Ingram said. “I see gas prices going down a little bit every day, just about a cent a day.”

It’s the unexpected car repair costs that can give consumers a boost. Now is the time to get your car serviced.
“Make sure everything important to get from point A to point B is in good condition: belts and hoses, tires, batteries, fluid levels, wiper blades,” Ingram added. .
Some people may worry that if they bring their car to a repair shop, they will be cheated.
According to Ingram, this is not as big a problem as people think. It’s all about finding a good and trustworthy automotive technician.
AAA has a list of approved auto repair facilities online. It’s free and lists about 100 shops in Alabama.
