Maximilian Davis embarks on a journey to redefine the luxury Maison of Ferragamo. The newcomer graduated from her College of Fashion in London three years before her and launched her own eponymous brand, but in 2022, following the departure of Paul’s Andrew, designer Ferragamo has been appointed as the new creative director of Last season, Davis made a fierce debut for the brand with renewed attention and is now back at his fashion week in Milan to present his sophomore collection.
The event was held at the Allianz MiCo Convention Center in Milan. A circular seating arrangement and blazing spotlights were installed to illuminate every outfit walking down the runway. The FW23 proved Maximilian was a master tailor, showcasing his current signature style in Ferragamo’s trademark red hues alongside dynamic blacks, muted grays and bright yellows. The range is elegant and classic, with the first look featuring a form-fitting wool coat with a wraparound collar, skin-tight bottoms, and leather gloves. Featuring an asymmetric closure mechanism, the menswear suit was designed with a subtle rip that exposes the second layer. Next, the designer infused his style of classic sportswear with luxury motifs and unveiled his luxurious track suits with heavy wool construction and breathable nylon his designs. His zip-up jacket was crafted with a spectacular high collar and casual leather his pants, and the fur details floated from look to look, giving off a glorious sheen.
Additionally, the perfect fit trench coat is paired with compact shorts for summer fun, and the zipper detail allows for disassembly and customization. House-specific notes of red were hidden in most of the garments, employed next to intricate wrap dresses, adventurous hue coordinations and stacked vinyl dresses that reflected under the spotlight.
