CORO DE CAMERA news release

Through the recent “Water Is Life” art competition, Coro de Cámara encouraged talented high school artists from Santa Fe, Espanola and Polloaque to create works dealing with the fundamental role of water in our lives. . The competition will accompany the chamber choir’s “Agua Vida” concerts on February 25th and 26th.

Alexia Laweka of the Santa Fe Indian School submitted her winning entry. Her striking visual depiction of “Water Is Life” appears on Coro’s “Agua-Vida” publicity materials, the corodecamara-nm.org website, and on the cover of her program of concerts. In addition, Laweka’s original artwork will be on display at the performance venue for patrons to see.

Runner-up Lindsay Angulo of Espanola Valley High School submitted an interesting painting, “Sinking into Life,” which also appears in Coro’s printed concert programs and exhibits. Both artists will be congratulated and honored at the “Agua-Vida” performance.
