With classy and colorful touches, this unique and modern business is promising. An extension of the McDougald family business, the Casual Camel Boutique operates in the heart of Clarkton with fashionable clothing, creativity and great design.
Casual Camel’s 30-year-old owner, Camille McDougald, tells us that she moved back to her hometown of Clarkton after college and has been here ever since. In 1917, after working for two and a half years at a fashion retailer, he decided to work for his father at Clarkton’s prestigious McDougalls, which he had started over 100 years earlier.
The proud owner of the Casual Camel Boutique said it was “wonderful” to expand the family business. she says: Mixing styles is my passion, whether it’s fashion or home decor. ” She continues: My mother always had a great sense of fashion and design (she still does). Everything I know about decor and fashion I learned from her growing up. “
Casual Camelz primarily offers women’s clothing, jewelry, accessories and gift items. Baby clothes and men’s items are also available. From loungewear to wedding guest wear, Casual Camel is the perfect place to shop. For those who need help and are looking to step outside their comfort zone, styling aids are available at the store.
Camille says: I use this theory when making purchases in my store. Rather than sell his 100 items that don’t last long, I’d rather buy more expensive items, reduce markups, reduce profits, and get customers who come back happy because their purchases have held up. I’m here. “
How did Casual Camel Boutique come about?
“Having my own apparel shop has always been a dream of mine. Circumstances have changed.I decided not to pursue this and instead considered starting an online store.Do your research, make a list of brands you like and share them with yourself without using your name. I chose a store name and purchased a domain for my website. My father had purchased the storefront that led to our store many years ago.He took care of our garden, fodder, One day I decided that I could achieve my dream without leaving my parents, I decided to stop thinking and dreaming and just do it. Instead of online, only I have a small storefront for those who enjoy shopping in person. He has worked tirelessly to bring my vision to life and I have been told all my life that Clarkton was a booming town. We wanted to revitalize our town by opening a new business where we could buy things we like and gift items without leaving our community. and a background in graphic design. She used to live on a catamaran with her husband and cat but had just decided to go back to land. This is a dream to start designing a website. It seemed like the perfect time to begin the process of seeking out.” – Camille McDougald
Casual Camel currently ships products to customers in 26 different states. The owners are proud of this as one of her main goals is to see Clarkton flourish like it did years ago. she said: I hope that in the future, people will look at my store and say, ‘Wow, we can open a business in Clarkton too.’ “
Through her experience as a small business owner, she has learned how supportive the community is and how people enjoy shopping locally. She thinks the main takeaway from running her own business on her own is that she now understands why her father worked so hard all the time with so little time off. You feel guilty that you weren’t there on holiday when you’re away. You want to know who came shopping while you were away so you can thank them. There’s always room for improvement , you want your business to be as successful as possible, so you want to work all the time. “
Like all businesses, Casual Camel struggles. Issues such as higher prices on products and shipping can be difficult, as stores strive to keep prices affordable for customers.
How does Casual Camel Boutique contribute to the community?
“My father has always been involved in the community and has always given back to schools, churches, non-profit organizations, and people in general. Whether it’s advertising for the school, donating raffles, buying raffle tickets, or simply offering help, we also want people in our community to feel good about themselves and to help everyone. We want to give back by giving them a boost of self-confidence by providing them with gorgeous outfits.” – Camille McDougald
