Art Soup 2022 will be held at the popular LODA ArtWalk in downtown Mobile on November 11, 2022. Art Soup’s art is presented in exquisite handcrafted bowls donated by local artists. An empty bowl means fighting hunger. Nearly a quarter (22.4%) of all children and 15% of the total population in Mobile County face food insecurity. This equates to her 65,300 local residents, including 21,890 local children.
On November 11, from 6-9pm, Joachim Street in front of the Saenger Theater and Mobile Arts Council will be a lively street party with artwork by local artists, live jazz from the Jimmy Roebuck Trio, and Mystic Order of the Jazz will change to Obsessed (MOJO) and local restaurant soups, desserts and drinks. All proceeds from the event will go to The Love All Pantry. Formerly known as Central’s Food Pantry, Love All Pantry and hundreds of volunteers from his 20+ organizations around Mobile work together to feed over 2000 families each month. In 2021, 46,500 households will receive more than £1 million of his food. A particular emphasis is placed on healthy foods such as meats, grains, fresh vegetables and fruits. Faced with demand that hasn’t diminished since the outbreak of the COVID pandemic, Art Soup 2022 organizers have doubled her goal for the event, according to Connie Guggenbiller, director of The Love All Pantry.
