Ariana Grande is back from a singing hiatus with a remix of The Weeknd’s 2016 song “Die For You.” This remix is ββthe fourth time the two have co-produced a song together..
The last time Grande hopped onto the track for a remix was in 2021, when she remixed The Weeknd’s song “Save Your Tears,” a single from her 2020 album After Hours. The pair first collaborated in 2014 on the song “Love Me Harder” from Grande’s second studio album My Everything.
new lyrics
In the remix, Grande added a new verse and sang, “Finding a way to stay focused on what I gotta do / But baby it’s so hard around you / And yeah I blame you / And you know I can’t fake it Now or never/And you hint that you think we could be better/Me and you will be better/Yeah, I know you do I’m here.
“You know what I’m thinking, look in your eyes / You don’t want me, you hate to cry / You’re perfect ’cause it doesn’t work out / And I know you deserve it I know / I can’t leave She adds an extra spin to the song’s already established chorus.

Grande and The Weeknd celebrated the release of the remix via an Instagram post on Friday. “DIE FOR YOU REMIX OUT @The Weeknd” Grande wrote with the addition of bat and black cat emojis. In her post, she included five images of the pair together over the years.
The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, posted three similar photos of the two singers with the caption, “DIE FOR YOU REMIX // JOURNEY CONTINUES @arianagrande.” With star and moon emoji.
Grande and The Weeknd also collaborated on the song “Off The Table” from Ariana Grande’s latest album “Positions”. The two also performed the song live on Vevo’s official live performance series.
Since the release of “Positions”, Grande has not released any other new recorded music, instead returning to her background in musical theater. She is currently set to appear in the two-part film adaptation of the musical Wicked in the role of Elphaba.
The first film is set to be released on Christmas Day 2024.
